- What factors determine the cost of a move?
Distance: The distance between the origin and destination plays a significant role in determining the cost. Longer distances generally incur higher transportation costs.
Accessibility: Stairs, elevators, narrow hallways, or long carrying distances can require additional effort and time from the movers, which may result in higher costs.
Packing Services: The cost will be added to the overall estimate if you opt for professional packing services. Similarly, if you decide to pack your belongings yourself, the price may be reduced.
- Are you licensed and insured?

- When should I book a moving company?
Each relocation is unique. However, we suggest booking your movers as soon as possible, preferably 2-4 weeks before your move. By doing so, you can secure a moving date and time that suits your move schedule. We will prioritize your needs first.
- How many movers should I hire?
The number depends on various factors such as the amount of disassembly/assembly required, the number of flights of stairs, the presence of oversized items, and the need for packing fragile items like TVs, glass, medical equipment or art. Hiring an extra mover can ensure a timely move, meeting your budget and ultimately saving you both money and time.
As a general guideline:
2 Expert Movers = 1-2 bedroom homes
3 Expert Movers = 3-4 bedroom homes
- Do you offer same day moving or weekday rates?
Absolutely! We offer amazing deals depending on your situation. Feel free to give us a call or fill out our contact form for an accurate moving quote! Our weekday hourly rate for 2 Expert Movers is $175.00 with a minimum of 2 hours. Our weekend hourly-rate is $195.00. We also offer "Moving Mondays" special deals so reach out for more details!
- Do you have any packing or moving tips?
- Dispose of items that you do not want to bring with you or your moving company cannot transport (flammables).
- If you are moving out of a high-rise building, contact the property manager and reserve the elevator for moving day. Secure parking for the moving truck.
- Write or put detailed labels on the tops and sides of all boxes.
- Packing materials don’t have to be costly, the following items can used as packing material saving you time and money: bath towels, blankets, pillows, & clothing that can be rolled or folded newspaper.
- Boxes should always be taped rather than interlocking the ends together. Tape the bottom of the box as well as the top.
- Pack an essential box of things that you will need immediately at your new home. We will make sure it is loaded last on the truck so that the contents will be immediately available at your new home - voilà!

- Find your local moving company (preferably us), obtain packing supplies, notify important parties about your address change, schedule utility disconnections/connections, etc. By organizing your to-do list this way, you will have a clear roadmap to follow and ensure nothing gets overlooked.
- How accurate is the quote that I will get from Kreuter's Movers?
- We give quotes based on the inventory of items, distance, and other factors that you tell us. Generally, our estimates are 99% accurate, and the price does not change unless anything changes from your end. So, please, be as accurate as possible when communicating with our estimators because it helps us to give you more a precise quote.
